DUAL FREQUENCY ULTRASONICS CLEAN TO DEFENCE STANDARDS
Circuit boards emerge ionically clean and free from white residues
Contract electronic manufacturer Jaltek Systems Ltd is using Kerry Microsolve ultrasonic technology for cleaning printed circuit boards to defence standards, a cleanliness level higher than Military Specification.
Luton-based Jaltek has a Microsolve co-solvent machine fitted with Neptune generator control and an Autotrans Mk 4 robotic work transporter. The co-solvent process uses a mixture of 3MTM’s NovecTM HFE 71 IPA, an environmentally safe fluorocarbon solvent, and a hydrocarbon solvating agent in the boiling sump to ensure that the circuit boards emerge ionically clean and free from the white residues that can occur with aqueous and single solvent cleaning processes.
Neptune’s microprocessor allows Jaltek to select a frequency of 70 kHz for both sonic cleaning stages, thus safeguarding delicate circuit boards while maintaining cleaning efficacy, while Autotrans automation optimises both consistency and throughput.
